Nordic walking

Nordic Walking is a modern form of exercise based on cross-country skiing originating in Finland. It can be a vigorous exercise utilising nearly all of our muscles or it can be more gentle. Nordic Walking burns more calories than conventional walking due to a full body workout providing an exercise for the shoulders, arms, core, glutes and legs.

As mentioned above it can be adapted to suit various abilities and fitness levels. Trekfit and Adventure Walks are for those people who want a cardio based more intense workout, whereas YogaWalx is more gentle fat burning session, concentrating also on balance, strength and breathwork.

The use of Nordic Walking poles encourages the use of the muscles rather than the joints and so is ideal for anyone beginning exercise or returning to sport post illness or injury. All levels of mobility are encouraged and welcomed. This is a very sociable sport with currently over 10 million people worldwide enjoying Nordic Walking.
